Game Economy – Role Overview

As a Game Economy Manager, you will be responsible for designing and managing the in-game economy systems that drive player engagement, retention, and monetization. You will collaborate closely with game designers, data analysts, and product managers to create a balanced and rewarding game experience. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that the in-game economy supports both a fun player experience and the business objectives of our games.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage in-game economies, including virtual currencies, item pricing, and player progression systems.
• Analyze player behavior and in-game data to optimize the economy and identify opportunities to enhance retention and monetization.
• Collaborate with game designers to ensure the economy is balanced and enhances the overall gameplay experience.
• Develop and test monetization strategies, including in-app purchases, ad placements, and other revenue-generating features.
• Work closely with the data analytics team to track and report key economic KPIs.

Requirements:

• Must - 1+ years of game economy manager work experience, preferably for a web or mobile company, or in the online gaming industry.
• Strong understanding of free-to-play game economies, virtual currencies, and monetization strategies.
• Proficiency in using analytics tools and data platforms to track in-game economy performance.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex economic concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in A/B testing and using data to optimize game features.
• Knowledge of live ops and event-based economy management.
